Asthma and allergy control in your home
If you or your family have allergies and asthma, you know the discomfort that occurs when it appears. There are many different triggers for allergies and asthma. Ventilation can improve air quality by drawing stale, pollutant-laden air out of your home and bring in fresh, clean air.
Most of us spend a large proportion of our lives indoors so it is worth considering the air quality of our homes. Air quality inside your home can have a huge effect on your health, especially if you suffer from asthma or allergies. Poor air quality inside your home can exacerbate existing symptoms or cause symptoms to start. Poor quality air contains such things as pollutants, dust, mites, pollens, cooking fumes, and other contaminants, which can trigger asthma and allergies*.
Common sources of indoor air pollutants include:
- Household products i.e. fumes from cleaning products
- Various human indoor activities i.e. fumes from cooking
- External factors (from outdoors) i.e. pollens being brought indoors
*NOTE: Consult your doctor if you are concerned about your health conditions.
